My research interests centered on the exploitation of synthetic organic chemistry to engineer wide range of functional building blocks that can be harnessed to assemble functional nanomaterials for potential applications in different fields including environmental, biomedical as well as renewable energy arenas. We apply the bottom-up approach to engineer various functional nanomaterials. Dr Fathalla has wide experience in the following research areas (Organic Chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry and Nanotechnology, Molecular Machines and Switches, Organic Nanomaterial for Solar Cell, Molecular Recognition and Self-assembly, Host-Guest Chemistry, Smart Materials, Drug Delivery, Metal Nanoparticles and Nanoclusters, Organic Photonics and Electronics, Porous Organic Polymers, and Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS)
